Lack of music
Don’t you ever come to a point in your life when there’s nothing you like anymore, I mean, nothing new, I mean, nothing surprising, I mean music. Feels like you’ve heard it all, huh?…
Lately I’ve been trying to find something new and refreshing. Where is it? There must be tons of music out there, but am I ever going to like anything as much as I liked The Bends when it just came out, or Nevermind right after Kurt sent a bullet through his brain, or Showbiz when I had my own band?
So, I asked the almighty google for the best music albums to have. Ok, it renders alright - hundreds of top 100 of all times. And they are all claimed to be drawn up by music experts. Jeez, what similar tastes! Dozens of Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylans and some old farts I’ve never even heard of… It is funny that there’s hardly any band that’s been No 1 in the past decade. Where is Coldplay, Green Day, Muse, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Placebo? Even Metallica is not there…
Ok, let’s assume music is like wine - the older the better. Well, in that case I guess I’ll check the list again in some 40 years (if god gives me that much).
Guys, any suggestions?
virtually yours,
