The Importance of a Scan

For a while I had been giving by 120 film rolls (photos shot with my old-school camera - Zenza Bronica) to a photo-shop to do the development and scans for me. I was not always too happy, but they did the job ok… I thought…

About a month ago they (the photo-shop people) called me to tell me that they have developed my 5 films, but as the scan prices have changed they didn’t scan them. When I told them I still want them scanned, they enlightened me - 60 eur for 5 films… Ok, no scans, please! :)

So, I decided I needed my own scanner. A bit of research on the net, got it - Epson V-500 Photo.

It took me just one scan to realize that this thing is a real piece of quality. The sharpness on the photos was incredible (until then I couldn’t understand what’s with the world famous Bronica sharpness), the colour render - spot on. Even the high ISO grain seemed more pleasant than ever before…

So, looking for a decent photo scanner? I found one.

virtually yours,
